Europe is at the beginning of a new industrial revolution, considered to be the fourth such leap forward and hence labelled Industry 4.0. Triggered by the adoption of new digital technologies (i.e. cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, additive manufacturing), the new revolution will have a disruptive impact on the socio-economic fabric of Europe.
